Tips to reduce the use of plastic bags.

So it's decided not use plastic bags or at least minimize it.

Here are some tips to reduce your use of plastic bags so we can help in saving our environment:


  1. Use re-usable and washable plastic containers (Tupperware or Pyrex) instead of disposable plastic bags to store food and pack lunches.
  2. Use re-usable cloth grocery bags and decline plastic bags at your local grocery store checkout
  3. Use self-checkout to reduce bag usage, and decline bags when you can carry your grocery items in your hands

In my previous post, we shared some tips on how we can reduce the use of plastic bags. This time, we have here some ways for us to utilize plastic bags you and I already have. Share your thoughts too

For the plastic bags you already have collected, here’s ways to use them instead of trashing them:

  1. Use your plastic bags to pick up animal (dog) poop
  2. Donate the plastic bags to animal shelters or dog parks
  3. Use them in place of paper when doing work around the house such as painting
  4. Keep some in your car in case of emergencies
  5. Use them to collect trash when you’re camping – and take the trash with you
  6. Use them in keeping valuable items
  7. Return them to your local grocery store – they can be re-used and sometimes recycled
